Privacy policy

Media Stack Backups is a personal utility operated by its owner, solely for backing up the owner's application configuration to Google Drive.

Google data accessed and purpose

With the owner's authorization, the utility uses the Google Drive API to create backup files, list relevant backup-file metadata (such as names, identifiers, sizes and checksums), and download backup archives for integrity verification and recovery. The intended operations are limited to a designated backup folder. The exact account permissions requested are displayed by Google during authorization.

The utility does not intentionally access unrelated Drive documents, Gmail, contacts or calendars. Google data is used only to perform and verify the owner's backups, not for advertising, profiling or training artificial-intelligence models.

Storage and security

Backup archives are encrypted on the owner's computer before uploading. Encryption keys remain private and are not uploaded with the archives. Authorization credentials are stored in restricted local configuration outside public source control. Archives and their operational verification records may be retained locally as well as in Google Drive.

Application-configuration backups may contain sensitive configuration or account information, which remains inside the encrypted archives. Encryption does not conceal file names, sizes or other metadata exposed by the upload.

Sharing

The utility does not sell Google user data or intentionally share backups with other people. Google stores uploaded files as the owner's chosen storage provider, subject to Google's own terms and privacy policy. Backup sharing is not made public by this utility.

Retention and deletion

Backups are retained for recovery under the owner's configured retention policy. The owner controls deletion of local and Google Drive copies. Revoking authorization stops future authorized access but does not automatically delete previously stored backups.

Revoking access

The owner can revoke the utility's permission through Google Account connections and remove its local credentials. Reauthorization is required before automated Drive backups can resume.

This information website

These static pages contain no analytics scripts, advertising, forms or application sign-in. The hosting provider may process ordinary request information, such as IP addresses and browser details, to serve and secure the website. The website does not receive the utility's Google credentials or backup contents.

Limited use

Media Stack Backups' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
